Nutrition Tips

Running demands a lot of energy from athletes and proper nutrition is very important. Most young athletes don't take it seriously. But they need to think of it as fuel, not just food.

Always start the day with a good breakfast.

At least 30 to 60 minutes prior to practice, consume some liquids, preferably plain water, and a light nutritional snack, such as apples, bananas or fruit bars.

Hydrate frequently during the workout.

After practice, it is a good idea to consume a healthy snack within 15 minutes of your workout and a meal within two hours. It will keep you from over eating when you finally get to sit down to a meal.
